Today we went on a bird watching walk.....

We had fun today out spotting birds all around the school!  We found two magpies perched at the top of a tree, saw a few starlings over near the library,  lots of seagulls in the sky and so many crows swooped up and around us.  We were lucky to spot some lovely robins and also a butterfly came by to say hello just outside Mr Murray's window.

Rory Robin :-) Are robins big or small?
We saw a sparrow. What colour feathers does it have?
We saw lots of rooks flying overhead. What colour is a rook?
Our first butterfly spotting of 2015!

We saw some fat pigeons walking on the grass.
Blackbirds are smaller than pigeons and crows. They have dark feathers and a bright orange beak.
We saw a wren in the bushes. Wrens are small like robins and sparrows. They chirp and sing.
We saw some beautiful starlings hopping along the grass. Starlings have shiny spotted feathers and an orange beak.
A cheeky crow!
We saw two magpies kissing in the tree!

Lots of seagulls soaring the sky
